Whether you are new to Medicare or are currently enrolled, you may have questions. Here are some basics:
For MOST people:

• Not all parts of Medicare are free.
• Prescription drug coverage is required and is through private insurers.
• You can obtain coverage only at certain times before you go on Medicare and at certain times during the calendar year.
• The Medicare Annual Enrollment Period (AEP) begins October 15th each year and ends December 7th. It’s a good time to have your prescription plan (Part D) reviewed and change your Medicare Advantage Plan.
• If you have a Medicare Supplement plan and want to change your coverage, and you don’t have any chronic health conditions, you may be able to do so today.
